Richard Whitmire is looking for a catch phrase to refer to the KIPP, Achievement First, Match style of schools.
I nominate the phrase "prescriptive schools".

schools that actually work?
You know... I am not so sure these schools do anything better than other schools.
To their credit, they have higher standards, and enforce values, but they do have high drop out rates and there is a self selection process going on.
If I was in the ghetto, I would choose these schools, but I consider them more stop gap schools, than long-term solutions.
